The Axe-Fx II is an all-in-one preamp/effects processor. It contains a incredible virtual inventory of hundreds of vintage and modern guitar amps, speaker cabinets, guitar stompbox and studio effects, and more. It accurately recreates the sound and feel of tube amps and can match the tone of live amps or recordings. It is ideal for both live and studio use, with heavy-duty construction and a high quality, low noise design. The Axe-Fx II has superb sound and unrivalled power and flexibility, offering many improvements over traditional guitar amps and effects, including extremely low weight, precise sound control, greater simplicity, and more. Despite its advanced technology, it is remarkably easy to use.
Easy-to-Use Front Panel Features
The Axe-Fx II can be completely controlled from the front panel via knobs, buttons, and a large backlit LCD display. The large VALUE knob is used for most setting changes, while four smaller QUICK CONTROL knobs give you hands-on access to extra parameters including SCENES. Scenes allow each of the 384 presets to contain 8 different combinations of effects on/off, amp XY ""channel"" selection, and more.
Twice the Power of Axe-Fx Ultra
In the digital world, more power equals the capability for better sound. The Axe-Fx II is the world's most powerful all-in-one guitar processor, with two state-of-the-art Analog Devices TigerSHARC Digital Signal Processors working in tandem (many times the power of the nearest competitor.) One is devoted solely to amp modeling while the other handles effects and other processing.
G2 Amp Modeling Technology™ and MIMIC™
All this power is put to good use in G2 Amp Modeling Technology.™ G2 provides both preamp and power amp modeling for dynamics and tone other modellers cannot equal. G2 also models the entire power amp including the tubes, transformers, choke, filter caps and more. The results are amazing: warm, yet tight bass, powerful midrange, silky highs, and the easy feel that makes playing a great amp so enjoyable, plus extreme control to dial in your own signature sound. There are 130+ amp models onboard, including all of the classics plus today's best boutique offerings.
Multi-point Iterative Matching and Impedance Correction (MIMIC™) technology takes amp modelling to the next level. We use MIMIC to check various points in the circuitry of the actual amps being modeled and make adjustments in our models, bringing an unprecedented level of accuracy.
Tone Matching is a tool we created for our customers to do something similar. It matches theoutput sound of the Axe-Fx to that of a reference signal, such as a recording or the feed from a mic on a live amp. This allows you to ""clone any tone."" Results can be saved directly as presets, or exported as ""User Cab IRs"" for use in other presets. All amp and effect settings are fully editable in presets using Tone Match.
Superb Speaker Simulation
The Axe-Fx II features a high resolution speaker simulator with 76 models and 50 user cab memories. locations. Combined with our Amp Modelling, this allows you to create the sound of a cranked amp at any volume. Preset cabs include custom blends from the RedWirez and Ownhammer collections. 100 onboard ""User Cab"" memories allow you to load your own speaker sounds, whether from a third party, or chosen from our own optional collection of Cab-Packs. You can even create your own User Cabs by using the onboard tools to capture the sound of any speaker. In addition, we offer Cab-Lab, an optional User Cab mixing application for Mac and Windows, designed specifically for those who want to create their own custom IR blends (like a producer or engineer might do with different mics on the same speaker).
The Axe FX Exquisite Effects
The Axe-Fx is known for its ultra-realistic recreations of classic stomp boxes and rack processor effects. Effect models can be dialed in with a single knob to make all required settings for great sound in seconds, or tweaked at the deepest levels with extended parameter options and a completely modular approach to virtual rig design. Effects include tape, analog ""bucket brigade"" and vintage digital delays, “script"" and ""block"" logo phasers, 'vibe and many many more. Many of the effects have also been updated and enhanced on the Axe-Fx II, offering new sounds and useful features.

Computer Integration with Onboard USB
The Axe-Fx II has a host of USB connectivity features. Connected to your Mac or PC, it becomes a 2x4 Audio Interface with 1x1 high speed MIDI. This allows you to record the main processed outputs and simultaneously capture a ""dry"" track for re-amping later. You can also monitor or process computer audio tracks with the Axe-Fx II. 1x1 high speed MIDI-over-USB eliminates the need for a separate MIDI interface and makes editing with Axe-Edit, our free editor librarian software easier than ever before..
New I/O Capabilities and with Even Less Noise
The Axe-Fx II offers a range of essential input and outputs. Alongside balanced XLR outs, the ¼"" unbalanced outputs feature our new Humbuster™ technology, which helps reduce the problems of ground loop noise without dangerous ""cheater plugs"" or expensive isolation transformers. Rear analog inputs are also balanced, for cleaner signal over greater distances. Special analog processing keeps the noise floor even lower on output 2, designed to be connected to the front of an amplifier.
The original Axe-Fx was hailed for its low-noise performance; the Axe-Fx II is even better, with a 10 dB signal-to-noise improvement and the same pristine quality converters. The front panel also now features a high quality headphone jack.
